We are delighted to share that the Multiplier Event ‘Transform the BGSL with technology from tomorrow’ took place in the picturesque city of Samokov, Bulgaria. As part of the Erasmus+ co-funded project “European Digital Framework of Sign Language” 2020-1-IT01-KA202-008386, the event was organised by Budakov Films and supported by the Youth Organization under Union of the Deaf in Bulgaria (MOSGB).

This open public event was attended by more than 70 people who were introduced with all project results as well as discussing the maintenance of the outcomes after the project completion. Ms. Rositsa Karadzhova talked in details about the project by introducing the audience with the main project ideas, all related results and how the tangible outcomes produced during the and the “European Digital Framework of Sign Language” will be implemented into their daily routines.

In addition, the project website was also illustrated and the participants were able to watch the three short videos produced by Budakov Films and supported by the Youth Organization under Union of the Deaf in Bulgaria (MOSGB) where Bulgarian youths were also shown there. In the course of the event, the project methodology was explained, and the existing collection of words was shown on the homepage.

Moreover, the produced by the consortium lemmas in five different fields were largely discussed. Participants were very interested to master careers in Computer Science, Cloud Networking, Cloud Networking, IoT, Artificial Intelligence AI and robotics, Audiovisual and media production. Furthermore, representatives of stakeholders who joined the discussion and expressed their satisfaction towards the produced glossary.

Into the Q&A, the audience raised many interesting questions, which Rositsa managed to answer, and the participants were satisfied with the follow-up. The host managed also to collect constructive feedback on the project, which was extremely positive.However, the participants suggested that a follow-up project could be initiated where MOSGB could be involved as an equal project partner since such tasks are much more geared towards deaf young people or people who have a basic technical understanding and are in touch with such technologies on a daily basis.

In conclusion, the project has been an excellent start to establish a basis, which will enable exchange in subsequent initiatives with different young deaf people across Europe as well as those who have a basic technical expertise.
