Sofia, November 23, 2023 – A multiplier event for the Flavours of Europe project took place today at the Aula Magna Hall of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications at Sofia University.
The event was organized by Budakov Films, a Bulgarian film production company that is one of the partners of the project, and co-hosted by Asst. Prof. Yordan Karapenchev, PhD and Boris Baev, both project managers at Budakov Films.
The Flavours of Europe project is an EU funded initiative that aims to promote entrepreneurship and cultural diversity among young people in rural areas of Europe, by using gastronomy as a tool for learning and innovation. The project involves six partners from five countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
The main goal of the event was to present the results and achievements of the project, as well as to encourage the participants to enroll in the e-learning platform and the website developed for the needs of the project. The e-learning platform offers a variety of courses and modules on topics such as entrepreneurship, intercultural communication, media literacy, and European values. The website showcases the stories and experiences of young entrepreneurs from different European countries who have successfully launched their own businesses in the fields of gastronomy, tourism, and culture. The e-learning platform and the website are both accessible for free at the projects website.
The event was attended by 43 participants, mostly students and lecturers from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications, but also members of the media and young entrepreneurs. The event featured a presentation of the project and its outputs, a demonstration of the e-learning platform and the website, a panel discussion with the project managers, and a Q&A session with the audience.
The panel discussion was moderated by Asst. Prof. Yordan Karapenchev, PhD, who is also a lecturer at Sofia University and a consultant on the project.
He and Boris Baev shared their insights and challenges on starting and running their own businesses, as well as their tips and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. They also highlighted the benefits and opportunities of the project for the participants, such as gaining new skills and knowledge, developing their entrepreneurial mindset, expanding their network, and accessing the European market.
The audience had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the panelists, as well as to network with other participants. The feedback from the participants was generally positive and constructive, and the participants praised the project for its innovative and engaging approach to entrepreneurship education and cultural exchange. Many of them expressed their interest and motivation to enroll in the e-learning course and to learn more about entrepreneurship and gastronomy in Europe.
